About Fran Cea:
Fran Cea, born in Valladolid in 1973, has built a solid career that unites his passion for music and photography, positioning himself as one of the most prominent concert photographers in Spain. His relationship with music began in his youth as a guitarist for local bands and owner of a record store, which he managed for more than ten years, until 2004. In 2006 he began his journey in concert photography, initially illustrating reviews for a local website with a compact camera.
In 2010, with a professional team, Fran made the leap to national media such as rafabasa.com and rocklive.es, where he combines photography with writing reviews. His career took an important step forward in 2013, when he joined insonoro.com and worked as an official photographer at renowned festivals, such as the Béjar International Blues Festival or the HDC Rockin’ Fest. At this stage, his images began to appear in albums of renowned national and international bands, including the album covers of The Bellrays and Jared James Nichols, among others.
Since 2017 he has dedicated himself exclusively to photography, collaborating with the magazine Popular 1 RnR Magazine, where his photos have been featured on the cover on several occasions. His work has led him to cover some of the most important festivals and events, such as the Azkena Rock Festival, Rock Imperium and the Bilbao Blues Festival, as well as tours of world-renowned rock artists. In recent years, his images have been the cover of books such as Todo En Nombre del R’n’R and El Blues en España, as well as starring in multiple exhibitions throughout Spain and on tour posters for bands such as F.M.
With an archive of more than 3,000 concerts, Fran Cea is today one of the most prominent photographers in the field of rock and live music, and a regular presence in the pits of the major festivals and stages in Spain.
