Travel photography is at the heart of this captivating exhibition by Joana Dueñas, an artist who invites us to travel the world through her lens. Each image is a window to the fauna she observes with respect, the corners she discovers with curiosity and the essence of Ibiza, captured with love and sensitivity. In addition, this exhibition includes a nod to her first steps in photography, a tribute to the beginnings that forged her unique style and her inexhaustible passion.
About the exhibition:
Every journey, portrayed through the lens of the camera as an inseparable companion, becomes an invitation to stop, to absorb every corner of the environment and capture moments that tell their own stories. The images in this exhibition reflect that intimate connection with the moment, a way of isolating oneself from everyday noise and delving into emotions, creating a silent dialogue between the landscape, the moment and the soul of the viewer.
About the Photographer:
From a very early age, photography has been her language to express the world. As a child, she immersed herself in visual art through her mother’s old Contax, discovering a fascinating universe in monochromatic tones. For her, photography is a tool of creativity and a way to connect with the beauty that surrounds her.
Ibiza, an island that has been her home for more than 30 years, has become the perfect backdrop for her inspiration. There she finds the harmony between nature, faces and landscapes that fuel her artistic passion. Travelling with her camera is a natural extension of her life, leading her to discover and capture the essence of every corner of the world.
Throughout her career, she has received numerous international awards, including the FIAP Gold Medal at SFD Illa de Menorca (2019, 2023), as well as awards and mentions in prestigious competitions such as the Siena International Photo Awards, the Thrierenberg Super Circuit and the Trofeu Torretes. Her work has also been published in renowned editions, such as the Thrierenberg yearbook and its deluxe edition book, reflecting her commitment to photography and her passion for capturing the essence of nature and landscapes in all their forms.
The 1X platform has been a prominent showcase for her work, with 343 images published and 112 awarded. In addition, she has collaborated with important stock libraries such as Getty Images and Stocksy, consolidating her career in the field of professional photography.
