Sant Josep de Sa Talaia is the host of the Festival

This municipality is dotted with hidden coves, immense white sand beaches, breathtaking cliffs and sunrises and sunsets saturated with colour. It is also surrounded by a sea of islets that make for spectacular photographs, such as es Vedrà, sa Conillera, s’Illa des Bosc, s’Espartar or ses Bledes.

In addition, it has the only natural park on the island, with 2,500-year-old salt flats, a Phoenician village declared a World Heritage Site, defence towers, charming villages, whitewashed churches and unique rural architecture, whose brilliance stands out among plowed fields and pine forests. Sant Josep, in short, is the ideal place to capture the essence of the Mediterranean in all its splendour.

‘Sant Josep és Foto’ and its creators

The first edition of ‘Sant Josep és Foto’ represents much more than a photography festival. It is the fruit of the passion, effort and enthusiasm of two great enthusiasts of photography and local heritage: Joan F. Ribas and José Juan Gonzálvez, two Ibizan professionals in this fascinating profession, who, driven by their love for images and their deep respect for the municipality of Sant Josep de sa Talaia, have set out to transform this corner of the Mediterranean into the epicentre of creative photography.

From the very beginning, they have put all their effort into bringing to life an event that will not only attract photographers from all over, but will also serve as a showcase for the natural and cultural beauty of Sant Josep. Together, they work tirelessly to design a festival that combines training, inspiration and fun, bringing together some of the best photographers in the country and a local community that is proud to show the best of its land.
